Hey guys, I want to install a hidden stereo in the glovebox on my 67 camaro and was wondering if anyone has done this with a vintage air gen IV installed? The reason I ask is I know the glovebox vintage sends with the kit is shorten some already.

Thanks,

Tony, I would not use the glove box, I would use this radio :)

I have the VA Gen IV in my 68. Found the new small glove box too small to properly mount an aftermarket unit. Suggest using one of the many aftermarket units that fit directly into your current radio slot. Some look similar to the factory setup, and are cheaper than that unit from Florida. I'm in the process of wiring mine, which will have an IPOD + jack/charger cable in the ash tray, and the XM radio 12V & cradle in the glove box.

I used a standard DIN mount in my '68. The back has to stick through the rear of the glove box a bit. Used a marine mount and an infrared repeater (PAC IR-X) so I can control it with the door closed. Out of sight and works great. Original AM is in dash for looks.
