YES, much of the raw steel (sheet, plate, tubing, pipe, angle, structural, etc) in the US comes from Chinese foundries. And, there's really nothing wrong with that. I know because I deal with this professionally on a daily basis. If you think otherwise, you are simply uninformed.

We get "buy American" restrictions in contracts pretty regularly, and it is almost impossible to source some items in the US. US-made hardware (nuts & bolts), for example, are 10X as expensive, often have to be custom made, and can take months to get.

I'm not vouching for the quality of the finished goods in this case, because Chinese manufacturing quality control is all over the map (from fantastic to horrible), but for anyone to build truly "made in USA" control arms would be almost impossible.
o.k. o.k. I read an article that stated china imports tons of our scrap paper and metal. I figured the sneaky guys buy our scrap and sell it back to us. Thats where I was coming from.

:hurray: Well said. People have no idea what the average Chinese worker is like. My company has ten manufacturing locations in China. I have an idea of what it is like to try to get a competent quality inspector or engineer over there. DOD restrictions should be the nail in the coffin of this discussion. But it won't. :D
If Chinese workers can't produce quality parts why does your company have 10 manufacturing plants in China?

Some people just love to debate, they get off on arguing, doesn't matter how many holes you poke in thier information or lack of supporting information, they just love stirring the pot and debating. It's a hobby for them. Also love when these folks keep saying "And that's the last thing I'm gonna say on the matter and keep posting.

I just love when folks get on thier higher than thou way of thinking and make broad statements to belittle others way of thinking or views without taking a step back and looking in thier own back yard.

Example: I have a few friends who are "supposidly" hard core animal rights activist and vegetarians. My family farms and raise beef cattle and I also hunt and eat what I kill. They lecture me about how cruel and unhealthy we are for doing so. Saying they would never eat meat or wear fur or use anything animal related.

I made a bet, give me 10 minutes and I bet I can find 10 or more items in your house made of or containing animal by products. They said go for it. Needless to say, after a few minutes, they shut up. Why? Because they never took the time to research how many products contained animal products. Sure they didn't by leather, but thier vinyl shoes contained glue, had gummy bears in pantry, plastic shopping bags, heck they didn't even consider all the many animal by-products used to make their car right down to the rubber in the tires (or most any tire).

It's cool to have your own opinion and choose your own life style and how you live it and what you support or buy, but before you get on your high horse and preach and belittle others for doing the same, you better make damn sure you know what you are talking about and don't throw stones out of your own glass house. :beers:

Whatever.

That's where the customers are. 110 facilities in the world. All in the countries where the market is.

Why would you knowingly sell your customers inferior products? Don't you have any ethics?
