well with all the "why 69" posts around i figured its time for a "67 thread" so here ya go....lets stir things up a bit:boxing:

just to get things started

how about the best interior, the deluxe interior in the 67's is by far the sharpest interior of all the camaros.
the console looks far better than the following years with a crisp clean design.....

We all know to stay away from 1st year run of any car ,can always count on having all bugs worked by 2nd year:D so 68 would be the 2nd year run ... and always Happy Motoring...:) :beers:

I can't really pinpoint why they are my favorite, which is why they are my favorite I suppose. When I go to a show, or see one on the street, I just know that the 67 is the one for me. My dad had all three years in our garage (bodyshop) at one time, but the 67's always seemed to be the one. My dad ran his bodyshop for 20 or so years, and I was able to work on, and around some the most unbelievable muscle cars you have ever seen. The 67 Camaro however was the standout model for me (amongst any cars, not limited to Camaros), even before I knew what a First Gen Camaro was.

I like the 69 models, as well as the 68s. For me though, a 68 Camaro or a 69 Camaro would not necessarily be the next car in line to add to my collection. Am I walking on the thin line of blasphemy here? I am looking/hoping for a 68 Chevelle, a 72 Corvette and a 70 Challenger.

If I never get the others, I'll always have my 67 Plane Jane, which is plenty for me. :)

My grandmother's Oldsmobile has the key on the column too. Very cool. :):):)

The 67 was the original Mustang killer. For that reason alone it should be revered as the best. The 68 and 69 were icing on the cake, but the 67 IS the cake. :)

Only year with chrome interior trim availble and it looks awsome. Rear interior lights installed in side panels availble. I love the Std grill on the 67's, very simple and nice looking. Lower door hinges are cast and very strong and mount with counter sunk screws for a clean look. Vin not on the dash, Chrome arm rest bases. Simple and excellent fitting door panels with real chrome trim. Chevy cross flags on fenders!!! Deep Water Blue !!! 67 Z28 is a true sleeper and not a flashy option. Cowl induction from the cowl. 4 piston caliper dics brakes. No folding licence plate to get to your gas cap!!! The 67 SS was the only car from Chevy to have the 350 in 1967, the rest got it starting in 68.

And............................wing windows!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The designers of the new Camaro back in early 1966 were trying to figure how to change the Corvair look into a pony car. They were all in-fighting and could not agree on any of the design elements. Back and forth they went without an agreeable design. Then head of the design and engineering department was frustrated to no end. He called a meeting and shouted out " I have had it with this bickering and want to stop this little design war you all seem to be in at this time. I think its time you all just go outside and VENT " When they all came back in they all were in a better frame of mind and finished the design. Well,... now you know how the 67 got the vent or wing windows. :D
