Wow. Even as it seems the ZL1 was not one of the 69, 47k wsa real light for that car, even in today's money.

SY2873, yep, I agree, it's a great time to be a buyer. I wonder how long this will last though? I am already seeing way less "nice" cars on the market. I think the smokin' deals are becoming less and less as people decide to just hold on to their cars until the economy gets better. The exception will be if we have another bubble burst and people sell their cars to climb out.

I'm the guy in Texas that builds the ZL-1 Camaros.

Hey Mike I didn't see you at Somerville last weekend. It was a great show.

As you said I use the new 053 ZL-1 blocks with correct vintage ZL-1 heads, carb, crank, intake, cam etc. The vintage Winters blocks are nostalgic and cool but they are not very dependable and had porosity problems. I've had two of them that came from Yenko in the original crates and both had issues. That's why I went with the new 053. They are vastly superior to the vintage blocks. If you plan on driving the car that's the only way to go.

200K to build a ZL-1 clone is way more that it should cost. Even if it's all correct with the proper dates and BE rear end, maybe 120K

I just finished a Pro-Touring ZL-1. It's a little different. I'm getting ready to post it in the for sale section.

Hey Rick,

I had my daughters graduation to attend. I heard it was a good show. Sorry I missed it.
