how rare are the 67 Camaros with automatics on column's?

guys im looking for a nice 67 to restore as a daily driver close to org as poss maybe adding vintage air system that's it. i have been looking for a 4 speed car, BUT lately have seen a few all orig 67's with auto's on the column, i COULD get use to this as im way past the hot rodder, and might be talked inot one with the column ive seen.

there are some on ebay with protecto plates all dealer papers ect thoughts on this??? are column cars rare? :confused:

I had a column shift bench seat 67 a while back. Bench seat was noticeably more comfortable than the stock bucket seat 67's I thought. Once in gear the column shift didn't matter.

Keep the column shift:thumbsup:...you don't see many these days.

Saw a 68', 427 in Tex with one. After that decided to keep mine.

I have a column shift 67 that I am re-dong now. I was going to swap to floor shift but I have a friend that does custom work that is going to make me a custom fiberglass console that will have some extra goodies added so I am keeping the column shift.

I've got a '67 column shift no console.

Different.
Roomy.
It is kinda wierd sometimes as you're looking for the place to rest your elbow on the center console like modern cars, but I get used to it in a few minutes of driving.

to clear things up, i do not have one as of yet just see alot of these on ebay and didn't know if they were in fact rare or not id rather have a 4 speed car anyway just asking thanks for the reply's

auto on the column cars are cool!!
not rare..just vintage looking!!

Column shift is neat. My first race car was a '67 column shift, D for drag.
Most of the ones I seen years ago in the salvage yard were column shifted, about 40%.

You had to be a real man to drag race with column shift cars...
And good golly,heaven forbid if you missed a gear??? It was ugly...

The reason I taylored the PG to shift consistently on its own at 5500 rpm. 'D' for drag, removed the missed shifts.

My car was a column shift auto,changed it to a 5 spd some time back,but kept all my original stuff in case I, or whoever inherits it wants to go all original
