Hey fellow Camaro nutz, this is my first Camaro rebuild ever. I owned a 73 Z28 when I was 16 and totaled it out after a couple of years back in late 80s. I always wanted a 69 and finally after my kids are grown up and have intense meetings with the C.F.O. (wife) I finaly got one three weeks ago.

Beginning pictures day one, just got it:

Congrats on your purchase Paul. I became a member of this site even before I bought my 69. This site is better than anything I have read or seen when it comes to getting information about our cars. The guys here are great and pretty much are always willing to help. Good luck and keep those pics coming.

Welcome aboard Paul! :beers: There's always room for one more F-body on the road. Going Green too I see. It's Frost Green for me--back to factory... Looks like you've been reading some build threads there. ;) Awesome start to a loooooong adventure. Enjoy it! Great guidance is here. Use it well...

Hey Paul looks like you've got a Northern car on your hands. Welcome to the club. Just follow along some great builds, Like 6781 Camaro, and many of your questions will be answered in detail, with pictures and explanation. Depending on what level of restoration you are taking on, COPO Barnfind is a fine example of a high end build for a '69. Also use the search function whenever possible, as most of your questions probably have already been asked before. My only advice to you other than have fun and enjoy and be prepared to dig deep into your wallet, is do the research, ask the questions, and buy the right parts when it comes to after market. Looks like you will be doing a lot of the work yourself, so you should save a lot of money that way. Also note that if you are doing a factory build, check out the "CRG" for reference on factory correctness. It will be your best source.

Thanks for all the comments and look forward to getting advise on my addiction. Will post pictures as the work progress on this fine machine/investment. I plan on handing it down to my son in the WILL and hope he does the same to his children. I told him and to tell his future kids that if the car gets sold, I will haunt for the rest of their lives till the cars comes back home.:)

Nice One< i would have tried the wheelie but the front firewall mounts would have crashed and burned on me. :noway:
Got a call yesterday from Camaro Concepts here in Houston and I got some parts in :thumbsup:. Im off today and will be in the garage allday even though the temp in looking to be around the 20s later this afaternoon, BBBRRRRR.

Oh by the way I forgot to mention the surprise I got in the car when I got to the right rear quarter area. If you look close you can see the mummified large rat on the right rear seat area that was in the pillar support over the wheel well., the dude was huge. I told him welcome to Texas now get out

Well I may be out for a few weeks after injurying my knee at work.. I forgot to post the body jig I designed and built myself using the measurements out of the Fisher Body Manual :beers::hurray:. I feel bad leaving my second love (dont tell the wife) :noway: in the garage alone. I keep wondering out there to check on stuff. I will be ordering the full trunk pan tomorrow from CAMARO CONCEPTS in HOUSTON (sales plug) since they keep most items in stock from Dynacor and Goodmark. Well here is the body jig:

Sorry to hear about your knee. I know the feeling (x2). Baby it, don't rush the healing; it will only postpone it. Ask me how I know... The Camaro will be there.

Nice job on the jig. I like the floor height locators too. Good idea that many forget.

Well guys and any Gals,

i got a friend of mine to help me with positioning the firewall on the jig. Took alittle work and adjustment but it came out pretty close to center as seen by the center pendolum on center of the fire wall and center line on the jig.:hurray:. Here are the pics took about 45 minutes of directing my friend on what i needed

and I thought I was starting off from scratch on my Camaro! Just a firewall and frame rails? What's next for the car? ;):D (just kidding...)

I got my friend to come over to help me. It is amazing what a 12 pack will get you, nah just kidding he is good guy. Test fitted the firewall, floorpan on the rear frame rails. Had to tweak the front firewall mounts about one inch, but that was ok. Checked all measure I could think of against the donor in the back ground (poor thing) and close to within 1/16 all round so far. Here is picture of the progress and it is coming along very slow cause of my knee injury, so Im playing foreman :beers:.

I marked the picture and when doing so noticed that my CFO (wife) put her old valentine flowers in the man cave to be thrown away :noway::mad:. I will post others pictures as the project continues, I have an MRI :( soon to see about the knee.

Be safe.

...All of your pics have dissapeared except for your last post. Do you know
whats up with that ?

Yea! What IS up with that?

That's it--- I don't like this thread anymore. (just kidding...l:))

It seems like you may have moved or changed them in your photobucket account breaking the link for it to appear here. You can re-post them in a new post if you wanted. I believe that's the only way you can fix them. (it has happened to me too in some of my early pics in my thread)

This is going to be one of the most interesting threads for me since you are starting from PURE SCRATCH! Amazing to see.:beers:
