I put a ton of thought into exactly what I wanted to do. My brother is in the final stages of swapping and LS2 into his 68 Camaro so I have some first hand info of all the issues that arise with swapping in a used engine. I weighed that against just getting a GM Connect and Cruise engine and transmission. It will end up costing me a bit more money but I will know what I have and have a warranty so I am going with the new LS3 480 and 4l70e transmission.

Here is what I am planning on using for parts:

Engine mounts and transmission crossmember - Holley
Oil Pan Holley 302-2
Griffin CU-70009-LS Radiator and Fans
GM 19257325 Accessory Drive
Kwik A/C bracket 10143
Hooker Super Comp Headers 2276-1HKR
Tanks Inc. fuel tank and pump
Corvette regulator and filter
Vintage Air
Speedway Tubular Control arms 91036769
QA1 Coil overs
US Mags U111 18x8 (Front)
US Mags U111 18x9.5 (Rear)

I am undecided what I am going to do for a speedo etc. I really like the stock look but obviously nobody makes an electronic speedo yet that looks original. I am thinking of getting a speedo and trying to mount the factory face on it.

I am doing my best to do everything right but also not blow my budget totally out of the water. I have a pretty awesome wife and a generous budget so I don't want to ruin that.
I'm also going down the Holley/Hooker path for my conversation. Currently I'm stalled on my header purchase, was about to pull the trigger on the same set (Hooker Super Comp Headers 2276-1HKR) and learned this set does not have o2 bungs. In doing a little more research it appears Hooker's only LS swap headers with the o2 bungs are the sets that are for DSE front subframes. Welding in bungs is not that big a deal but I really don't want to screw up the factory ceramic coating. I know there are clamp on contraptions but that's not how I want to roll with my project.

Anyone have suggestions?
I don’t know if anything has changed but my holley/ hookers (same brand now) had O2 bungs. Are you looking at the Holley website?? Sounds like you have been given bad info.

Mine had O2 bungs in them and my brothers set did as well.

One other thing I am changing is I am putting a console out of a 2015 Camaro in and changing the shifter. Here it is installed with the brackets I made. It really mates up to the dash well. I am going to put a shifter boot around my shifter (this console is for a 6 speed). I also am going to hydro dip that trim panel around the shifter in carbon fiber.

I did speak with Holley/Hooker support on Monday and was told that only DSE model LS Swap headers had the bung. I'll try them again to see if I get a different story. Weird...

Looks amazing - I have color samples coming from TMI.... Really like seeing real examples

I am pretty impressed with the quality of the materials and stitching. The only minor thing is the door panels are fairly tight to the wind lace in back and the kick panel in front. I hope their doesn't end up being any wear issues with them.
