I’m having some trouble identifying some of the stuff in the cowl tag.
I’ve learned it was made in the 1st week of April, it’s a coupe, standard bucket seats, and made in Los Angeles. However some of the other numbers are confusing.
I’m not sure it’s an SS 350, or an L30/M20
I’m not sure I’m understanding the numbers in that region correctly.
Any help would be appreciated.

A little more information…
“If I’m reading this right, and I’d like to think that I am.”
I’ve figured out most of it, I’d just like those with better knowledge confirm that I am in fact reading it right because there is some conflicting data.
04A = 4th month first week
ST 67-12437
67=yr
12=Camaro model
4=standard interior
37=2dr hardtop sport coupe
760 - Z Best I can find is that it means black
custom bucket seats w/custom interior.
W 2LG 3SL
W= tinted window? Possibly meaning a 327
2L=4 spd manual transmission
G= center console
Or “2LG” means lagoon blue
3SL deluxe interior w bucket seats
or 3SL was a rally sport designation
4P could mean 4 passenger coup
Or could mean ss 350 option
Or could mean a L30/M20
LOS 29886
made in Los Angeles and body #29886
L-L this refers to marina blue top and bottom
C691 I still haven’t found anything about.

More information about the car…
It has 327 badges it also has RS badges
The grill is the RS grill that hides the headlights
It came with a 350 but I’m starting to suspect that it’s not original.
It has a 4 spd manual transmission.
The car had no interior when I bought it so I can’t compare.
I got the car from a guy who bought it in a blind storage unit auction. So, I don’t have any info from previous owners.

Anyway, with conflicting info on the cowl tag I’d say it’s a 327 RS sport coupe that was marina blue with bucket seats, center console, and possibly an L30/M20.

Anyway thanks for the input

Normally one us would direct you to Camaro Research Group. www.camaros.org but the site appears to be down right now. So here is the decode for your tag.

Look at the firewall for the location where the speedometer cable goes through. A 4 speed SS car would have a Muncie transmission and the location for the speedometer would be at the top of the tunnel towards the wiper moter. All other transmissions had the speedometer cable through the firewall between the steering column and the driver side fender.
