Re: 1969 z28 brake booster

The inquiry was posted in the restoration section. Many people go to great lengths to purchase origional parts and it's not appropriate to stamp everything and call it origional. Better just to leave it and find the right parts when you can. I never see cars advertised saying "all parts restamped to give the illusion of origionality" It does not devalue the certified cars but it sure keeps adding to the jumbled mess of misrepresentation and it's justification.

I have often questioned the notion of a car being more valuable if it has the correct date code on an accessory. To me, it has always seemed reasonable that parts will wear out on a car necessatating replacement.

Taken to the extreme, the most valuable car is the one that still has the original oil in it and factory tires on it. But that seems kinda stupid, no?

To most, restored means taken back to the way it left the factory. So if it left with a booster dated January, 69, it should have one with that date.

When I did my Yenko Tribute, I was anal about casting and stamped numbers, but not so anal about date codes. But mine's not real! Hence my moniker, UNREAL.....Double entendre, as the car's power is awesome (Unreal). Or as we said in the 60's "Far out."

Not to jump on anyone else's posts, but if either of you has a March or April 69 9204 booster I would be interested.

Ed, sorry, wife has me busy on honeydos, I have not had time to clean those panels to make sure they are good.
