Looks good, not a factory SS or RS or delux interior, color. Expensive??? I paid $2100 for my 69 in 1978, paid $2700 for a 1 year old 70 Chevelle in 1971. so a new Camaro is about the price of most of the first gens, back then $1.75 hr, today $15.00. So price is comparable. Hope the car works out for you, I would say low $40's. JMO

I truly hope the vehicle in question works out for you and my posting isn't here to dissuade you but help in what problem area's to look for.The shine and beauty of a good looking exterior could convince you into buying something that could be thousands of dollars down the road to fix.
69's common problem areas are dash area where the its mated to the lower part of the windshield, trunk rot, wheelwells, rockers, rear window trunk filler seam, door seams. There are more area's as well. You want a high performance car to be structurely sound if you're gonna beat on it with some level of power. Engines, transmissions, interiors, wheels can be changed with some level of ease & money.

Bring a magnet, soft thin cloth, flash light and an extra set of eyes helps, preferably a 1st gen owner to help examine things before you fork over a bunch of coin. My unbiased view is from the pics posted in the listing and not in person view.

It has been my experience most “restored” cars are done by car painters who could care or know
less about anything else.

Decent engine, $ 10,000
Transmission, clutch etc, $ 5,000
Rear end, brakes, wiring, $ 4,000

Note, some restorers are experts in
mechanical, performance and body.

Check this car closely. I suspect it may be lipstick on a pig. Drivers door, rear upper edge looks like fiberglass filler. Plus all of the areas Slazisme pointed out. May just be the tip of the iceberg. Don't be deceived by shinny paint, chrome and exhaust rumble.

IMO, much nicer car from photos
I just saw that the reserve on this one was reduced significantly and it ends today! I'm currently the high bidder at $41k, looks like we are getting very close.. who says go for it??????

You don’t know what the reserve was or what it was reduce to. Do you? Could still be very high.

I don’t see whether or not the reserve has been met at this time.

the nice thing about this auction site ACC-Auctions.com is that they have a reserve meter which shows how close the bidding is to meeting the current reserve. When I bid $41k the red bar was back a good bit further and is now much more advanced. If I had to guess he was in the low $50's and just dropped to mid to upper $40s!!

Good luck when I see a car like that in today’s market at auction I’m guessing the reserve is closer to $55k
thank goodness thats definitely not the case here. current reserve is definitely under $50k.

How do you know the reserve is under $50k?

How much are the buyer fees?

It’s on the dealers website asking 57,000
I just spoke to a guy at ACC Auctions he confirmed the reserve is in the upper $40s. he said the seller was going to take it to another auction later this month, but said we are close enough right now that he will cut it loose soon. I wish I had more money. I was thinking low $40s was my max for my budget and really didnt think I had an actual chance!
