Anyone using a Borgeson quick steering box, I would like your feedback. I have a 72. FYI I am not interested in searching the yards for Z28 pumps I will go all new. Thanks

I have one in my 68. I usually use AGR but the Borgeson was in stock when I was ready to buy one so I tried it. The Borgeson is "OK". It is faster ratio than stock but nowhere near as good a feel as the AGR. I wish I had waited until the AGR was back in stock.
I’ve got a Borgerson 800 in my Ls1 swapped 85 IROC. IMO it’s a much better box than the quick ratio box the IROCs came with from the factory and I’ve owned several IROCS over the past 35 years. It has a much stiffer feel to it much like a modern car. Extremely responsive on the highway and you won’t feel any of that floatiness we feel in our 1st gens. I’ve thought about rebuilding my old IROC box to install into my 1st gen but I may just go with another Borgerson.
Rebuilt 2.5 turns available at the parts stores for less than $200 with lifetime warranty. 1987+ IROC works fine, check if it is a QR as there were a few different ones over the run.
Thanks for your input. AGRs customer service and product did not fair well on the net. I was glad to here the borgeson from gass peddler said is did not wonder on the road, I had not gotten feedback on Turn one.
I had AGR on two 68 Camaros and a 68 Chevelle and all worked fine and didn't give me any problems so I never had to rely on their service. They had a firmer feel than the Borgeson I have on my current 68. Like I said the Borgeson is OK and is a big improvement over the stock box but at least in my experience I like the feel of the AGR better. I haven't tried any of the other brands.
I'm very happy with my AGR and their customer service. I'm running the AGR 12:1 on my 68 and had a self imposed issue with the top seal leaking, AGR sent me a return label and fixed it free and round trip shipping it free.
I had terrible experience dealing with AGR for my 74 Bronco, and a couple others I know the same. Empty promises, product never shipped, lot of big talk and zero delivery.
Just ordered a Borgeson for the Camaro, look forward to getting it back together.
I installed a Borgeson in my 68 camaro last spring. Took it on power tour after and I'm happy with it. It is better than the Jeep grand cherokee box I installed in my 68 cutlass.
Thanks 68conv455, I appreciate your reply. Any issues with fitment? Appears as if you have a big block based on your Camaros.net account name. I'm a bit concerned about fitment when a BB is in the engine bay, along with aftermarket air conditioning fitted as well. Any comments about the installation are appreciated in advance!
Thank you - I may have the same or close to your situation - no headers but I believe the Borgeson box may be just a little bigger than the IROC box. I commend your consideration of costs when building or re-building.
Borgeson 800130 from Borgeson
Half rag joint 990012 - from Borgeson
P/S adapters (metric to Std), CLP-605SOL from Summit Racing
My camaro is a 327 small block with stock manifolds.
