Nobody rides in the back seat of a first gen Camaro unless they are height challenged or inebriated … :p
I don't even know why I wasted time and $ on a new back seat. I should have just deleted it.

My connectors scrape like a mofo going into my basement garage as its a steep ramp, I have a set of DSE connectors but it's tough cutting big honking holes in the floor of a finished car to install them.
They are a thing of beauty when they are done…

I built my own essentially mirroring the DSE design. Welded the entire length. You do have to contend with the back floor issue as Patrick pointed out. I simply raised the floor level with the top rather than try and cut and restitch carpet to accommodate the steel.

If you want to know how well your subframe connectors work just put a jack under one corner and watch the door gaps as you jack up the car. You might be a little disappointed some of the bolt in connectors. 😬 Zero change with DSE in my experience.
I think mine are CE bolt in. When I removed one jack stand the car never moved. And it was not through-bolted at the subframe, still isn't.

I was going to do Ridetech with some welding but I am grateful for the info that I can’t drop it to remove leaf spring.I need find a good metal guy to do dse. I don’t want so/so work. Too much in this car. Anyone close to Winston Salem nc?

DSE is in Mooresville NC... they do installs, but not sure on what. I think they like the $$$$$$$ builds, like for Dale Jr. I emailed them once with a proposal of what work I wanted to get done, they never replied. Now I think a phone call is 100 times better than an email, but at the time my thought was if my project wasn't enough to offer a response they probably were not interested.

It may be worth a call...

I will call them. I looked em up online but did not see anything about installations.
cant hurt to call. I can pull seats, have change carpet anyway. I tried pulling it up to run a wire but it tears. Real dry. Prob 35 years old if not original.

There is a link to a form. They have done cars for names like Dale Jr, Kevin Hart, I think Tim Allen, Jay Leno and other names you would know too... I am not sure they touch projects with a budget. Thats my take away on it anyway.

They build half million dollar cars. Highly doubt they’d be interested in installing a set of subframe connectors…. 😬

We have a shop here like that. When I got my car I had them install the TKO and some other things. They were happy to do it. Fast forward a few years and I went back for some more work and they recommended another shop! Turns out they only wanted to do the 6 figure builds. Luckily, there's several shops around here that specialize in old cars.

OP, if your car has interior and carpet in it, that will have to come out to install the DSE SFC. Yeah they tuck up more than other SFC as they go "through" the floor.

Ideally a shop local to you has done a DSE install on a 1st gen so your car is not the Beta project.
