Like the look of the Holley retrolight LFRB155 as it stays more on the stock side, but at $180 each is just insane specially when I’ve got 3 or 4 vehicles that need them. Is there another light that looks the same but less cost? I don’t want the LED’s with the outer circles or anything too busy looking. Also want something that doesn't require trimming or relays. Basically plug and play with the stock harness like the Holley. Suggestions and if you have the part number for a 68. Thx

I told my buddy to get the Holleys for his mustang build, they are nice, and have a good beam pattern.

Those Sylvania's post #3 don't look bad.

Cheaper ones don't normally have a good beam pattern.

Good LED lights are $$$..

The note on relays. IDK if some LED kits require them because of higher watt load that conventional but otherwise for any headlight I would, and did, install the headlight relay harness. Its plug and play install (no cutting any stock wiring).

The reason is it takes the full volt load off the headlight switch itself. The headlight switch just "triggers" the relays which are fed by the AUX +12vdc buss bear front core support. The result is brighter headlights and all the rest of your lights, including interior, will be brighter. I got my harness at speedway. Mounted the relays on front core support but they can be mounted on PS inner fender if you want. Since I have a close out pane, mine are hidden. Due to the harness wire length, the relays want to mount near the battery.

I ordered the Holleys, they are on sale but still stupid expensive.
I have a relay kit I will install. I have a relay kit style power supply on an old Jeep XJ, I can confirm, it is a game changer. The XJ has 100 watt PIAA H4 headlights (I think... they are rectangles) and are wicked wicked bright. Beam pattern is pretty much what I would call "pencil" and really reaches out there a long way.

I try not to spend stupid money on parts that can be accomplished the purpose with reasonable ones, but to each his own. Having said that I cannot remember even using my headlights but once last year on any of my toy cars. Halogens are available from OPG and Speedway for $14 and you can see better than original T3' that 2 of my cars still have. The Halogens seem to shine as good as my 99 Z headlights.

Agree 100%.

Please let us know how you like those Octanes. I like the look and the price as well. I assume you will be testing them as a stock replacement first with no added relays? I would be vary interested to know how many amps they draw. No need to complicate things (add relays) if the current is not over taxing the headlight switch. :)

How often do you use your headlights? See #17......just curious not insulting.
