Hey y’all,

I’ve been diving into restomods lately and am curious about the supercharged LS3 engine in a 1969 Camaro. Check out this ride: 1969 Camaro with Supercharged LS3. This classic muscle car got a serious boost with the LS3, and I’m wonderin’ how it impacts the drivin’ dynamics.

From what I see, the LS3 doesn’t just jack up the horsepower and torque, it seems to really change the way the car handles and drives overall. . But I wanna hear how this mix of classic look and new power actually feels on the road.

What do you think the supercharged LS3 does for the drivin’ dynamics of this iconic car?

Nice looking car but I’d sure want more details on build before dropping $170k.

The LS3 is a good engine, produces power, is compact and light weight. Seems like a good fit for a Gen 1 car. I’d be suspicious of adding a blower to a stock LS3 though, the cast hyper pistons and ring gap are just a time bomb waiting to blow if run hard and the tune is a bit off or you get a bad tank of gas. For this price a new LT4 would be a better choice for a stock engine but does not package as well.

Handling is all about chassis setup, brakes, tires and driver. Many good handling sbc or bbc cars around. Nothing exclusive to LS here. Big Red still runs with a bbc.

Not falling into what feels like an add.

What difference does it make what motor, at what power level, makes a cars "driving dynamic" different ?

I real don't see where a SC LS3 making 650 (just guessing) would be any different than a SC SBC would "make it different". Either "could be" carbed OR EFI.

I've been in a BBC F1X SC 65 Chevy II that had seen 8's, a 69 Nova BBC on nitrous that was 9.teens and whittled my way to high 10's NA in my bucket of bolts.... all are different rides at WOT, but tooling around, not really "different".
