Just wondering what everybody started out with? here is a picture (scanned) of my car the day that I drug it (literally) home in 01.

First owner beat the crap out of it and after he got the hood and intake stolen off the car he found an orange SS hood at the junk yard and spray painted the Z stripes on it

Second owner worked at the Chevy dealer and "tricked " the car out 70's style :)

This is what it looked like when I got it from the third owner who had it for about 20 years ... It was purchased as a father son project back in 1982 .

This is what it looks like now . I also bought it as a father son project .The paint is 25 years old and was an incredible job , has held up well so I just replaced the "groovy" interior , a little suspension and drive train work and added some satin silver stripes and have been driving it regularly since

(not completely "before", I had replaced ignition system, converted to disc brakes, replaced alternator, replaced radiator by the time this was taken. Real "before" had power drums, HEI smashed against firewall, no shroud, no fan, no belts)

(not quite a current after--recently redid cooling hoses, added AC compressor, moved PCM..)

Some day when I finish all this mechanical work, I really need to tear it all apart and start the body work...

Here's my before and after. Although it's not 100% complete yet. The before picture makes the car look better than it was. It was a poorly done older restoration when I brought it home. Not much of the car I brought home left now. Quarters (replaced at some point), windshiled frame and firewall, some of the floor and top half of the rear valance are all that's left. The rest of the body was replaced with original parts. No repro body panels used.

Since there are no after pics of the 67 yet, I'll do the 77. Pics don't do enough justice to the mess this was when I got it.

Underhood. Motor out, all new gaskets, painted. Stripped & cleaned/painted everything, all new brakes, etc..see my sig for most details. Ugh, look at the fenders.

Paint was super oxidized, stuff missing, etc. The whole car was as bad as this bumper looks. The hood shows some spots where I hand buffed it real quick.

After (last year - I drive too much, underhood is dirty now, lol)

Made the NastyZ28 calendar - voted by members. That was nice.

I owe a lot to guys in the NJFBOA club (esp Billy, Jon & James). We may have some interweb knuckleheads, but in person it is a great crew - our monthly meets are a bench racing blast. And to Rich for bringing my paint back to life. He's is a premier detailer and a good guy too. (cheap plug!). Also big help from Jody of Jody's Transmissions who helped me get my ST10 back together and working well.

I just finished putting a T56 in it - need to drive it a bit before the haul to Carlisle!

These accident photos ALWAYS bring an "oh man" to my mind. Were the passengers ok? How did that happen? Looks awesome in your after photo.
