67 is the best hands down camaro and they are getting more and more scarse, for rational choice thinking the 67 and 68 have many inner changeable parts, for that reason i dont care for the 69 as the parts are for that yr specific and personally the car looks ugly to me, to fat of a tail end and i cant stand the dash assembly console or the front grill looks like a corvair!

there is something special about driving a 1967 camaro around, sure the new generation camaros look nice until i drive up next to that *** in the real deal many new camaro owners tell me all the time they wished they had mine!!1 As far as value is concerned the 69 is worth more because of supply and demand i cant argue that at all but really it does come down to preference and its a smaller pool gap ratio of population that will fork over that kind of money for a 69 when you can get a really nice 67 for 20k in cali

I had a 69 RS hardtop in Daytona yellow back in high school. I sold it and bought my 68 RS convertible in butternut yellow between high school and college. My 68 just went through a total exterior restoration. I did put 67 taillights on it because the are cleaner than the 68s. I think the 67s and 68s have cleaner body lines and that is what I like. I think the 69s were a tad bit overdone.

Can't we all just get along?

Much like the Corvette, the Camaro peaked with the 67 model year and it's been all down hill ever since, in Chevrolet's fruitless attempt to exceed perfection. When a 68 or 69 pulls along side, I think I can hear a "Who's your daddy?" in my 67's exhaust rumble :)

Dont forget the 67 brought us the most popular v8 ever the 350. And the body lines are just way better and sexer than a 69 .And sitting in a 67or68 you feel like you are in a muscle car the 69 kinda of reminds me of a impala or stastionwagon

67 camaro,s bring no money because they dont look mean...
68 camaro's bring no money because they look like a red headed foster step child..
69 camaro's ...need i say more? its all about the sex appeal and the 69's have it and the other 2 dont..
proofs in the pudding and the history books...

Bill you say,
"68 camaro's brings no money because they look like a red headed foster step child"
"its all about the sex appeal and the 69's have it and the other 2 dont"

I say, beauty and sexiness is in the eye of the beholder and some red headed foster step children grow up pretty $hot$...:beers:

Also, to the 67&8 owners, how many times have you been asked "is that a 69?". You be surprised how many people simply remember the magical number :p69:p (hence the popularity and "branding" which to Bill's point does translate to more $$$) but could not tell a 67-8 from a 69 if their life depended on it. Even better, perhaps like the 67-8 over the 69.

matt, nice ride,looks great!

Think of the mid year vettes. In standard form the 63 is probably the least in value, the 65 and 66 with the refined interior, disc brakes, and cleaner body lines are next, but the 67 remains the king. Even the next generation the 68 has probably the least value. It has been said that the last year of a body generation is always best because each year they tryed to better the last year.
Ah... no :) Case in point

I do like all 1st gens, but 69 is my year! Sorry :)

dude, come on, you settled on a 68 chevelle? :confused:talk about the ugliest year chevelle and one that brings no money on the car market..
It was the cleanest muscle car I found that I could afford. Low miles, pretty much a 10. This was in 1975, so the car was only 7 years old, and I paid $1000 for it. Can't get much of a 68 Chevelle for a grand these days. I sold it and bought a 68 Camaro about a year later.

You are over analyzing my statement...When I said "69" had more sex appeal, I meant just that. Note, I did not say "69 camaro"
Ok, NOW I get it. I should have had my mind further into the gutter.;)

I too like all first gens though my first choice is the 69. I do love the look of a black (no stripes) 68 rs/ss and have no ruled out getting one for my second car. As far as the new Camaro, park a 69 next to a new one and see which one the crowd gathers around.

lets face it
67 68 69 are all great Camaros and are very similar cars in many ways
I have been lucky to have had all 3 and liked them all

still its fun to compare the details

67 you can get the L78 and Z/28 without K19 smog pumps.

68-69 had to have K19. Most of them were removed back in the day as they were an ugly power robbing tube and hose mess.

67-68 you can get RPO 4:56 and 4:88 gears but 69 can only get a wimpy 4:10 and had to get a COPO to get 4:56 or 4:88

67-68 you got the wimpy Muncie 4 sp shifter
69 had the Hurst shifter

67 no spoilers

69 had a bunch of cool stuff like the Super Scoop or 427 iron or aluminum
