forgot he stepped the cam up from 30-30 to Off-Road. Just not feeling the love for that Holley so will stick to my guess
Where is the Holley Love? What are you going to run on yours George?

362 HP, 358ft lbs. :D May as well get it in beforehand too... (and I too will be running a Holley as of now Mike)... so there's some Holley Love for ya bro! :beers:

I always get a good chuckle when people say "Elder-brock" or "Holy" carb!l:)... in a classified ad for a muscle car. :p

Which carb will you be running Todd?

Mike, You make any pulls today? Updates?

Hey Mike. We broke in the motor and started tuning the motor. No pulls over 5K yet. Need to get the carb and timing sorted out before we do full 6.5K pulls. Trying to get the vacuum secondaries to open up fully right now. We changed some of the vacuum spring rates as well as lots of jetting changes. Started with 68 jets in the primaries and 70 in the secondaries. Currently up to 72 in the primaries and 74 in the secondaries. Also changed the weights in the distributor. Going to work on it again on Monday. Hopefully get all the bugs worked out then. I am learning a lot going through this process for the first time. Holley's are not the easiest carb to bolt on that is for sure. Also curious how much performance would be gained by a carb spacer. However I don't think I can use a carb spacer as I would have clearance issues.

Bad-Mouthing THAT particular Holley. VS Carbs do not dyno like Holley DP carbs. :)
My 800DP would crap all over that carb :)

I will keep the built-for-BBC Q-Jet for the Vette or ???
I did buy the 670 Holley single sucker, VS carb for my 327

On a crate 350 motor, I will be running a Holley model #80457s (for now) with a 1" spacer kit sitting on a Holley Contender 300-38 intake. Still considering an LSX swap in the future after I enjoy it initially after the build completion. The 80457s is an entry-level 600cfm street carb. Mild performance output.

Hey Mike, You can use a spacer if you leave the sealing rubber off the cowl hood ring. BTW my own Z28 liked 70 primary and 76 secondary.
Also Good Idea to see if someone else has a Known Good Holley kicking around you can try also, just incase yours has a hole in the torque curve or other issues.
Are you going to run Your headers on the dyno? It would be intersting to see the difference.

I am running headers on the dyno and on my car as well. I may throw another Holley on to see the difference. The guys at the shop like Quick Fuel. Some guys seem to like them. I opted to build a semi accurate clone, so I went for some of the obvious items, like List 4053 Carb, Correct Intake etc. Perhaps my next project will be a bit different. Since stepping into the dyno room I have a much better idea of what options are available.

Ron & Dwayne have taught me lots. Good guys, and they build a lot of racing motors. This time around a stock build. Next time who knows?

You better hurry up and get one of your cars roadworthy Todd or you'll need one of these

LMAO!!!! l:) "where we're going, we don't need roads"

"Huh! The Lybians! Run for it Marty!..." "Doc! Doc!"

One of my all-time favorite movies!

Mike, The DPs open the secondary on command therefore far easier to dyno. You put that VS carb on the street after all tweaked for the dyno, it will like other secondary opening rates no doubt. Are there power valves in the rear metering block? 6.5s? You can have SCADS OF FUN DOING THIS at home or the track too.

Spacer, some extra power, maybe. Individual results vary, just like carb and ignition settings! :p Fret not. This is long after you get the rest sorted out.

No TEASER as to the numbers at 5000?
