Hi!
I don't have a console in my camaro so the smart phone is behind the front seat on the floor with my sun glasses.
Mostly it is just fine driving the car on well known roads and I don't need navigation.

But sometimes navigation gets useful... and then I need the smartphone but have no place to fix it.

I am wondering about a removable system or at least discreet.
I am thinking the lighter is well placed and can be used as a support :

However this will not be easily removed from the lighter and so it will be ugly when I don't need it.

What options do you guys use?

Thanks,

Marc

I got one that attaches to the rear view mirror. I don't recall where I got it, probably Best Buy or Walmart but I see them online. It clips around the rear view mirror and the phone is held below the mirror. It is pretty easy to put on and take off.

This the one I have available for all my vehicles: 68 Camaro, 66 Corvairs (2), 2018 Silverado Z71, & 2020 Malibu RS Turbo. I mount it low, so it it not in any major vision viewing area. I take it down after each trip and bag it to keep rubber out of the sunlight.

$9.97 + tax & shipping if applicable.

Boy are we spoiled! No place for the phone, cups, roll up windows, reach out to adjust the mirror, pull the knob to adjust the seat, push the lock button down or use the key, to open the trunk as well, and then we want to change all that to match our Toyota, not even an USA company, not me all mine have been GM and 2 Fords and 1 Dodge. Keep the profit here. I know I am rambling on as I do and most when you get to be 75. I keep my phone in my pocket!!!!

I use a suction cup type also, I stick it next to my ashtray in the 69'.
I have it so I can use the GPS on the phone going to car shows or meeting friends that I need directions for.

I like the idea of the suction cup stuck to the ashtray. My CDO (same thing as OCD, except in alphabetical order) would drive me crazy with a windshield mounted suction cup.

Hi guys, thanks for all replies !
I considered quite a lot of options, I also checked the magnetic spots as there is a lot of steel areas in our old camaros.

I like the idea of the double magnet holder best. That idea came from ilikeike... sorry I don't know your name :)
I found one cheap (China). I'll check it.
If it does not work I'll try a suction cup.

MRcool nice interior you have!
Our of the topic but :
What is that inner A-pillar shiny molding you have?

I like the magnet idea too, looking in to that.

and now the derail... I second @Marc post, very nice interior!

67 interior option Z23 (if I remember correctly) had chrome a-pillar covers... "it's a 67 thing" so is the N30 steering wheel! pretty rare I believe. And the deluxe bench seat, I have never seen one in person.

Nicely optioned car you have @MRCOOL_RSSS350 , very nice!

I have an iPhone and Apple Watch Ultra. When I do navigation it transfers to the watch. The watch when a turns are coming gives a physical vibration notification and also displays the directions on the watch face, showing the street name and direction to turn. It’s just a quick glance that’s required and works very well. I also listen to phones audio prompts but I cannot always hear them because the car is pretty loud.
